Deep, dark, ruby-red color is not quite opaque, but holds right to the rim. The aromas are meaty & brooding with ripe liquorice notes. The palate displays rich, concentrated red-fruit, a meaty character & distinct pepperiness. The acidity manages to be both soft & mouth-watering. There are plentiful fine, ripe, grainy tannins that give the full-bodied structure lovely suppleness. Warming alcohol rounds a long structured finish with attractive red-fruit character.
