The wine reveals the structure and dense tannins implied by Chianti's cooler climes compared to its more muscular brothers in Montalcino. The components form a harmony of ripe black and morello cherry and dark forest berries and citrus oils, with lovely notes of fine oak's warming spices and vanilla, and the gathering notes of tobacco and chocolate as the wine ages.
