Crown Royal once a gift for royalty has established itself as a hallmark for modern status both for its craftsmanship and its generosity. With that foundation, Crown Royal is leveraging our own unique whisky expertise to create our first, crafted Canadian Single Malt Whisky. With this launch, we honor Valleyfield Distillery, the premier French-speaking whisky distillery in North America. With a rich heritage founded in 1911, the plant was first a bakery, then a brewery and eventually a distillery. Valleyfield is located about 30 miles west of Montreal on an island in the Saint Lawrence River. Utilizing 100% malted barley grains, our Single Malt is distilled in copper. Furthermore, we celebrate and admire the Canadian landscapes and terroir that shape our liquid – appreciating the vastness and coldness which imparts a novel character on our whisky allowing the spirit to age more slowly and delicately. Aromas of creamy vanilla and fruity banana greet you on the nose, giving way to flavors of caramel, apple and baking spices. Finishing with a hint of spice, this stunningly unique liquid lingers with notes of warming cinnamon.
