What’s the difference between Sparkling & Champagne?
Sparkling wines come from all over the world, while only true Champagne comes from the region of Champagne, France.
Champagne is a sign of a celebration, starting with the signature “pop” of the cork to the magnificent bubbles that flow in the glass. Carefully chosen grapes of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir or Pinot Meunier are used to create some of the most vivacious and special Champagnes available.
Non-Vintage Champagne is from a combination different grapes from different vintages that have aged for over 15 months. These are typically quite powerful, complex offering a fresh and vibrant profile.
Vintage Champage comes from a single vintage and aged for over three years offering unique profiles in every bottle.
Sparkling Wine is produced in all areas of the world with many different syles:
- Cava – Sparkling Wine from Spain
- Spumante – This bubbly is from Italy and also includes Prosecco, an up and coming popular sparkling.
